EXPERIENCE

User Experience Researcher (Intern), 06.2013 - 08.2013
Mozilla Corporation, Mountain View, CA
Developed project to create and evaluate companywide inventory of communication touchpoints. Interviewed numerous internal stakeholders and presented research results.

Aided in development of a three-week emerging market user research project for Firefox OS. Coordinated transportation of 40 devices and traveled to Bogotá, Colombia, to help run a series of 12 focus-group style user interviews.

Research Assistant to Professors Stacie Rohrbach and Dr. Suguru Ishizaki. Aided with content development and QA review for an NSF-funded online technical and visual communication learning tool for engineers.

UC Berkeley Engineering Research Support Organization, Berkeley, CA
Provided analytical and financial support to faculty through project coordination and budget development. Performed contract administration and financial management of research funds from international, federal, state, local and private sponsors for a fund portfolio totaling over $18M. Produced customized financial reports and cost projections. Interviewed and developed training materials for new staff. Received two merit-based salary increases in one year in recognition for contributions.

Wrote and administered agreements for research subcontractors. Monitored budgets for accurate indirect cost rates and state and federal audit compliance. Led weekly meetings to develop and streamlined subcontracting business processes. Managed UCB’s internal grant application process.

Regional Human Resources Specialist, 10.2005 - 12.2006

On a two-person team, was primary west coast HR contact and liason for 600+ employees in 12 offices. Advised offices on implementation of corporate policy. Created offers, liaised with new hires, and conducted benefits & orientation meetings. Supervised a filing assistant. Managed formal leave process (disability, FMLA, CFRA, worker’s comp., maternity leave). Worked with accounts payable to deploy and run a pre-tax commuter benefit program.

Managed a political consulting and corporate real estate law office. Drafted client contracts and documents for presentation to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and large corporate clients. Personally handled all correspondence, accounting, banking, and research.
